Starting out as a young boy in a poor area in Mexico City where water shortages were frequent I began to get interested in Environmental Issues. During my teen years, I became very much interested in Economics and how people make decisions. I entered the National Autonomous University of Mexico and my appetite for knowledge on how the economic system relates to the environmental problems grew until I continued with my education getting a PhD in Environmental and Resource Economics and Policy at the University of California Riverside. My areas of Interest are:
Groundwater Economics
Behavioral Economics
Experimental Economics
My passion for water goes beyond academia; I am an enthusiast rower, swimmer and skier, where I spend most of my free time.
